VISI Advanced Solutions On Show At Nikken Open House

As the senior CAD/CAM partner for Nikken’s new European innovation centre, VISI software showcased their latest innovations and solutions at an Open House held there.  

Nikken, who are a leading supplier of elite precision engineering products around the world, held the ‘Experience X-Treme Machining’ Open House, over the course of three days from 2nd – 4th  February.

In the first of a series of Open House events, Nikken invited visitors to their brand new Innovation Centre Europe (NICe) which officially opened last year. The Centre, which is located on the Advanced Manufacturing Park in Rotherham, provides innovative solutions to the manufacturing industry’s toughest problems
.
VISI, who are a key partner of Nikken, were in full attendance to support the event and demonstrated live cutting on three of Nikken’s machines; showcasing the latest solutions from the brand new VISI 2016 R1 release.
 
Highlights included 3+2 machining of an engine block on a Brother Speedio R450, 5-Axis simultaneous machining of an impeller on a Bridgeport XR 1000, and High Speed  machining of an apprentice’s component on a Bridgeport GX-480 using VISI’s Adaptive Roughing (trocoidal machining).

Commenting on the day, VISI’s Northern Sales Manager, Ian Llewellyn, said: “We were very happy to support Nikken at this event. It was well promoted and well attended, which gave us a great platform to show many people in the manufacturing industries just what VISI can do in a live setting.”
